"a mind that is stretched by a new experience can never
to its original dimensions". Oliver Holmes
After or during good rain of 1.5 inches or more, Clear Creek turns
into an exciting little stream with up to class II whitewater. For
Southern Indiana, this is a rare whitewater opportunity for paddlers
with some fast water experience. We use Big Yak, sit-on-top kayaks
on this trip. You will get wet and may get a bit cold in the spring. You
must wear your PFD on this trip.
The Church Lane to Fluck Mill Rd. takes about 3 hours and going
onto Cedar Bluffs (Ketcham Rd.) takes about 4.5 hours. We do this
trip guided, $65 per solo kayak, shuttle, and guide.
This trip is somewhat hard to plan due to the need for precipitation to
get the stream conditions just right. If you want to do Clear Creek
e-mail us so we can put you on a "Notice List" of stream conditions
to notify you when conditions are right. Generally, we can run Clear
Creek from April - June 30th. After that it gets too dry.
